Overview

VDA vA is an independent Chrome extension that provides workflow assistance on supported freight and dispatch webpages. Depending on the features you enable, the extension may read page content, store settings in your browser, calculate route-related data, deliver optional notifications, and submit limited data to our backend services needed for those features.

VDA vA is a third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ActiveAero, APT, Ascent, or any other website operator unless expressly stated otherwise.

What data we collect

1) Website content used by enabled features

On supported webpages, the extension may read text and fields visible in the page in order to provide the features you enable. Depending on the page and feature, this may include shipment or load details such as shipment number, origin, destination, dates, times, miles, equipment type, dispatcher name, notes, row text, and other form or page values needed for the extension’s user-facing functionality.

2) Extension settings and browser-stored data

The extension stores settings and related data in your browser using Chrome storage and browser local storage. This may include feature toggles, keyword lists, templates, timers, radius settings, Telegram enable state, UI preferences, install ID, recent shipment history used by extension logic, cooldown state, and local decline queue data.

3) Optional login credentials

If you enable the optional Auto Login feature and enter credentials, the username and password you provide may be stored in Chrome sync storage so the feature can fill them on the supported login page. Do not enable this feature unless you want the extension to store and use those credentials for that purpose.

4) Account and subscription identifiers

We may store or process identifiers used to provide the service, such as an install ID, email address, subscription identifier, customer identifier, or similar entitlement-related data used to manage access to features.

5) Support and contact information

If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you send us, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message or attachments.

How we use data

When data may be sent to our servers

Some features work locally in your browser. Other features require requests to our backend at vdassist.com. Depending on the feature you use, data sent to our backend may include:

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell personal information or user data.

Chrome storage, local storage, and browser behavior

Some extension data is stored only on your device or in your Chrome profile. If Chrome sync is enabled in your browser, some settings stored in Chrome sync may be synchronized by Chrome across signed-in browsers according to Chrome’s own behavior.
